Now this car is a lot of fun! You don’t see them at all in Germany at the moment so when driving one of these, everyone (and I mean everyone) stares at you! The 3.5 V6 is a powerful motor in this car but it drinks like crazy even if you drive normally. I’d opt for an ML320 CDI, forget the ML500 or the AMG version, not interested in them. In terms of handling, it feels like a sports car! (more…)

With the eight-cylinder unit for the S 500, Mercedes-Benz is presenting the top power unit in its new generation of V-engines, which was successfully introduced in mid-2004. This engine is produced in tandem with the six-cylinder engine of the S 350.

Yesterday I also managed to drive the band new diesel CLS, the 320 CDI. This car uses the new lighter 3.0 V6 common-rail turbodiesel engine that makes 224-horsepower and 510 Nm of torque (376 lb/ft). Its coupled to the 7Gtronic automatic transmission. Let me say this now, I LOVE THE CLS-CLASS! This car is a sex machine. (more…)

The engines in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class: World premiere of a new eight-cylinder unit – V6 and V12 engines with considerably more output and torque.
The engines for the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class are new or further developments which offer up to 26 percent more output and up to 15 percent more torque then the preceding series. Fuel consumption is reduced by up to nine percent. In autumn 2005 a new 5.5-litre eight-cylinder engine developing 285 kW/388 hp will celebrate its world premiere together with the luxury saloon. The range of outputs from the engines in the S-Class will extend from 173 kW/235 hp in the S 320 CDI to 380 kW/517 hp in the twelve-cylinder S 600. (more…)
