As far as i know this works for the W210, W211 and W220 gearboxes and probably more models…
- Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position
- Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for five seconds
- Turn the key to the “off” position (don’t remove the key), then release the gas pedal
- Wait at least two minutes for the ECU to reset
Now the adaptive gearbox will have been reset and therefore it will be very sensitive and much more responsive (sporty).
The reason for is that when just driving around the gearbox “adapts” to that style and try to give you economy and comfort (that is if you drive that way of course).
I am not really sure how long it takes for it to go back to you ordinary drivingstyle but try it out you can always perform this reset again when you feel that you need maximum power from your gearbox.
