“autonis” and “Car Connectivity Award”: a hat-trick of wins for Mercedes-Benz in both
Mercedes-Benz builds the most beautiful cars, with the Stuttgart automotive manufacturer winning a total of three categories in the “autonis” readers’ awards.
Readers of the motoring magazine “auto motor und sport” voted Mercedes-Benz the design brand of the year.
The GLE Coupé likewise took top spot in the “Large cross-country vehicles” category, as did the Mercedes-AMG GT in the “Sports cars” segment. Mercedes repeated the feat in the “Car Connectivity Award” with another three first places.
Each year, the readers of “auto motor und sport” elect the best new automotive designs in the “autonis” awards.
This year, 115 new products spanning ten categories were available to choose from. Some 17,500 readers took part in the poll, which was being held for the 15th time.
Besides the “autonis” nominations, readers also had the opportunity to vote for the cars offering the best connectivity.
In the “Car Connectivity Award”, which was presented jointly by “auto motor und sport” and the computer magazine “CHIP”, Mercedes-Benz once again took three first places.
The Burmester® high-end 3D surround sound system won in the “Sound systems” category, the C-Class operating system in “Operating systems and displays” and the Driving Assistance package PLUS in “Assistance systems (safety)”.
Daimler’s successful car-sharing service car2go achieved a further first place in the “Car Connectivity Award” for its smartphone app.
